Driving to the Skinaka Observatory and the Nida Plateau
Motorcycle route to the Skinaka Observatory and the Nida Plateau in Psiloritis.
From Perama to Anogeia is a classic and interesting semi-mountain route. It is recommended to stop in Anogeia, for a coffee in the small square of the church of Agios Georgios and/or for a meal at the Aetos tavern, a constant value for many years.
The highlights of this route are the climb from Anogeia to the Skinakas Observatory (altitude 1750m) and the routes around the Nida Plateau where the changing landscape, incredible views, and good asphalt on most parts of the route make driving enjoyable.
The return from Zoniana, Eleftherna, and Arkadiou Monastery is less interesting, but it crosses many picturesque villages and at several points there are places to stop with a view of the surrounding mountains. In Zoniana is also the Sphendoni Cave, easy to visit with free entrance and well-maintained.
